For the 50th anniversary of the death in Woodbury of the renowned botanist Rev William Keble Martin, whose Concise British Flora in Colour was published in 1965, I’ve been asked to offer a short series of Sunday afternoon walking and writing workshops.
Give yourself an hour or three to slow down outdoors, be present, and immerse yourself in the natural world. We’ll be looking with a poet’s eyes, sharing pieces of favourite writing by others, and finding ways to record our own responses, under my guidance. No previous creative writing experience needed, but you do need to be comfortable with some gentle strolling in silence.
Please wear outdoor shoes/boots and weatherproof gear; bring notebook & pen & a favourite poem/short passage by an author you like.
You can attend all three Sunday afternoons, or just come to one. Fee is by donation.
UPDATE May 7th: nine of us had a wonderful May afternoon in a deciduous bluebell wood. Tranquillity and creativity reigned. Bliss.
